Did a little digging in my back yard today.
Hugelkultur bed. Took a little under 5 hours to complete (did this in one day...) seeded with dutch white clover and covered with straw.
The swale on the hill side will catch some of the water coming down the hill. There is a french drain that originates behind the retaining wall, That water will end up in here too. Planning to relocate my compost pile above the retaining wall.
I can't wait for it to rain.
