Over the course of about 6 months, I created two 30' long, 5' wide, 2' high wood core planting beds, and planted 9 sapling dwarf fruit trees with comfrey near each one.  I kept a photographic record of this construction, which may be seen at Flickr (https://www.flickr.com/photos/126374349@N07/sets/72157646755272301/).

Additional work performed during this time included a french drain below the garden beds, and four cinderblock planting bloxes on the south side of the house.  These will provide raised bed planting areas that will be planted in the spring (probably with Kiwi).  This construction may be seen at Flickr (https://www.flickr.com/photos/126374349@N07/sets/72157648625321806/).  Eventually these boxes will be faced in brick to match the house.
