Project Summary

One cool thought was a commercial kitchen, perhaps a community commercial kitchen. Thought about doing ducks, since we can grow slugs here, duckweed, possibly azola, and comfrey; mulberry won't be too far away from fruit now planted some years ago. Another idea I had was to do a sort of tea house, and casual Japanese tepenyaki grill. Combining all this may allow for some sort of a healing lodge to take shape.

Project Description

I get ideas from the people I meet in my life. But it's just me and my small property here, advantage is proximity to farm market across the street, house is zoned commercial and a kitchen certification may be fairly easy to obtain.

There is a separate property across a street with a little brook, sometimes not so little and roaring brook. The house has a steep hill behind it, full of large diameter pine trees. Sometimes I dream of cutting those trees and growing blueberries, or maybe even lingonberries. There's a yew hedge around the front yard of a sort of suburban looking street, though it's really in the edge or in the middle, of; nowhere, somehow...

It would be nice to use the brook property to grow some things like horsetail, wild rose, willow, comfrey, maybe a mulberry, and burdock. This is to be a nursery for a larger project, one with ponds, goats, honey and a little bit of love maybe. Thanks for reading some about this.

Legend of Badges

Note: The various badges displayed in people profiles are largely honesty-based self-proclamations by the individuals themselves. There are reporting functions users can use if they know of blatant misrepresentation (for both people and projects). Legitimacy, competency and reputation for all people and projects can be evidenced and/or developed through their providing regular updates on permaculture work they’re involved in, before/after photographs, etc. A spirit of objective nurturing of both people and projects through knowledge/encouragement/inspiration/resource sharing is the aim of the Worldwide Permaculture Network.

PRI Teacher

With the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable.

PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows.
