Project Summary

O Sitio "Floresta", consiste num espaço de 8.000m² concebido e manejado conforme os principios éticos e metodológicos da permacultura. Tem como objetivo tornar-se uma Unidade Demontrativa em Permacultura na Região Metropolitana de Fortaleza.

Project Description

O sítio Floresta compreende uma área total de 8.000m². Está situado no distrito de Mangabeira, Eusébio-CE, no interior da faixa de uso sustentável da Área de Proteção Ambiental do Rio Pacoti, distando 28 km do centro de Fortaleza. Adquirido em outubro de 2007 por Marcelo O. Sindeaux, ao longo dos últimos anos o espaço vem passando por algumas intervenções pautadas nos princípios éticos e metodológicos da Permacultura, tendo em vista os seguintes objetivos:

- Suprir de maneira ecológica e permanente as necessidades de habitação, alimentação, água e energia, bem como prover espaço para socialização, estudo, lazer e trabalho de seus ocupantes.

- Constituir unidade demonstrativa da Permacultura no estado do Ceará.

- Sitiar/abrigar atividades educacionais e de pesquisa relacionadas à Permacultura e à cultura da sustentabilidade.

O design Permacultural do sítio ainda está em fase de implantação, tendo sido realizadas, até o momento as seguintes intervenções:

Adequação da casa existente quanto à iluminação, ventilação natural e otimização do espaço, utilizando-se de materiais reciclados e artesanais.
Captação e armazenamento de água da chuva, compreendendo cisterna de ferrocimento com sistema de descarte das primeiras águas.
Saneamento alternativo, compreendendo bacia de evapotranspiração para águas negras e círculo de bananeiras para águas cinza.
Sistema integrado, em pequena escala, de piscicultura e fertirrigação, com aeração e bombeamento acionado por cata-ventos;
Coleta seletiva de resíduos sólidos inorgânicos e reutilização de resíduos orgânicos através de compostagem e minhocario.

Algumas outras intervenções já estão previstas em projeto, mas ainda não foram realizadas. Dentre estas:

Implantação de sanitário compostável.
Implantação de Horta/galinheiro consorciados e rotativos, integrado ao sistema de fertirrigação.
Plantio de pomar e cercas vivas.
Implantação de apiários.
Implantação de Herbário integrado ao sistema de fertirrigação.
Implantação de Berçário para propagação de mudas.
Implantação de aerogerador para suprimento de energia elétrica.

Os sistemas são dimensionados para a escala doméstica, portanto, pequena escala.

	PRI PDC People who’ve taken a Permaculture Research Institute PDC somewhere in the world.
	PDC Teacher People who claim to teach some version of PDC somewhere in the world.
	PRI Teacher With the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable. PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows.
	Aid Worker The individual with this badge is indicating they are, have, or would like to be involved in permaculture aid work. As such, the individual may or may not have permaculture aid worker experience. Watch their updates for evaluation.
	Consultant The individual with this badge is indicating they are, have, or would like to do paid permaculture design consultancy work. As such, the individual may or may not have permaculture consultancy experience. Watch their updates for evaluation.
	Community Project Community projects are projects that help develop sustainable community interaction and increase localised resiliency.
