first year of our food forest

here is a photo of the first planting day of a 300 m² food forest  and a photo of the same place 9 months after

2 queences and 5 plum trees, 2 lemon , 4 mandarine, 2 oranges  was al ready on site and we  planted 4 guava trees, 5 apple trees, 1 peach tree, 7 tagasatste trees, severals cranberries (chilian guava), several blueberries, lots of rhubarb, lots of comfrey, chickoree, poppy's, mint, rosemary, lemon balm, oregano, strawberries, sun flowers, borages, wild flowers... we used mushroom compost, saw dust, leafmould, cardboard, and comfreyto mulch the plants.

we also had 5 chooks in the food forest foraging and taking care of existing  pests such as codling moths and brown rot

A house was located up hill above the fruit forest and all the  water from baths and washings was used for irrigation using a 200 litre tanks fill with rocks and charcoals to  filter it and a drip irrigation using  gravity to distribute the water..
