Permaculture Vienna is a permaculture group that meets to discuss concepts and techniques and support each other in our permaculture projects. Permaculture events and courses educate locals about permaculture and motivate them to be part of the solution!

Project Description

Permaculture Vienna is a permaculture group that meets to discuss, find and create local solutions focused on sustainability, food security, earth repair and return to cultural values that are in balance with the environment.

We focus on local solutions by supporting each other to grow our own food and live sustainably.

We educate the public with events and courses are building a strong network of change-makers in the community.

With the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable.

PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows.
