Project Summary

Hello everyone! We are a group of people trying to start up a permaculture village in Paraguay. We're looking for like-minded people who want to create a new life outside of this so called hamster wheel with us. Creating an autarkic life is our goal. We want to grow our own food and produce our own energy. Live as green as possible! You can learn more about this project and our plans on the following website: www.permaldea.net Or visit the indiegogo page http://igg.me/at/permaldea/x/8574290 if you want to contribute to this project. If you have any questions you can contact me via the contact form on the website or here on this forum

Project Description

Permaldea is a German – American collaborative project which began in the year 2012.
Goal of the project is to create an autarkic, standing in symbiosis with nature, permaculture village on 50+ hectare land and to ensure a life outside of the hamster wheel in which we are all stuck in.
True to the motto – Self do, self have.

We want to use hightech with reason and responsibility.
A further focus is to combine the advantages of the community with the personal self determination.

All information about the project can be found on the website and if you have any questions, simply send us a short email via the contact form and we will answer your questions in a timely manner.

Legend of Badges

Note: The various badges displayed in people profiles are largely honesty-based self-proclamations by the individuals themselves. There are reporting functions users can use if they know of blatant misrepresentation (for both people and projects). Legitimacy, competency and reputation for all people and projects can be evidenced and/or developed through their providing regular updates on permaculture work they’re involved in, before/after photographs, etc. A spirit of objective nurturing of both people and projects through knowledge/encouragement/inspiration/resource sharing is the aim of the Worldwide Permaculture Network.

PRI Teacher

With the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable.

PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows.
