My name is Kristine Beck, I hail from a large family on a small dairy farm in western Wisconsin, USA. I currently own and operate a software company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“Permaculture” became part of my vocabulary in the summer of 2010 through discussions with my nephew who was a student of Wayne Weiseman. I am now reading and learning and studying Permaculture through books and webinars. A PDC course is likely in my near future.
My husband and I purchased 30 acres of the family farm. It is a delicious, albeit steep, mix of field, pasture, and woodland with scenic views of the Mississippi. Our intention is to build there someday and to create a haven where we can retire from life in the big city. It is important to me to create a permacultural experience on the property that will nourish the body and soul of generations to come. To that end, I have begun to design a Permaculture project for the property with the consultation assistance of Wayne Weiseman.
A two-day design charrette was held with Wayne Weiseman, Permaculture Designer, and two dynamic environmental/agriculture architects. The goal is to create a high level master plan for my 30 acre property.
