Looking at their farm land to see how we can make it sustainable in many ways. From inviting interested parties from overseas to help to making it really workable for the families of the Green Gecko.

A most confusing site - there is water everywhere and it flows through the site to another paddy field on the other side. The water drainage runs on the site due to housing which is now encroaching into the paddy fields. However, during summer it is a dust bowl - so I'm told. They have a large dammed area for fish farming, but and expert cleaned the water and the fish died. There are plants growing in the water at a vast rate. The soil is sand clay. there are coconut palms which shade a lot of the land and the owner does not want to take any out.
Thinking of using the river idea, making it deeper and letting it meander but halting it before it runs away into the house next door. THere is an aquafil on the site which looks like it needs the water to fill it for the dry months.
any ideas?

Hi Gail! I just emailed you, I am a fellow Permie living in Singapore. Interesting site you seem to have there! Looks like water management is the main obvious issue! Would a series of dams and swales help? I take it that it is on a slope?
Looking forward to hearing more about your projects!
