PRI Certified Permaculture Design Course in North Texas, US: Sept 5 – 20

Project: Pineywoods Permaculture

Posted by Theron Beaudreau about 10 years ago

Fully certified 14 day, 84 hour, intensive Permaculture Design Course in North Texas, US. The value of top quality training for the price of only one Bitcoin!

This is an advanced, fully certified 14 day, 84 hour, intensive Permaculture Research Institute (PRI) verified PDC. This course is certified by registered PRI PDC Teacher, Theron Beaudreau of Eco-Pioneers.org.

A paradigm shifting, mind expanding experience you won’t want to miss, a Permaculture Design Certification (PDC) is the foundation for becoming a professionally paid permaculture designer, educator and/or consultant. Designed specifically to extend your edge, this special 14 day intensive will give you all the tools you will need to design a life of abundance. Participants have the opportunity to co-create designs for everything from the major city to deeply rural environments and learn about restorative strategies applicable to life anywhere on the planet.

Chief Quanah Parker

Taught by Eco-Pioneers.org, Theron Beaudreau and John Bushe’, this 84 hour Premium Permaculture Design Course will be held on sacred grounds that Quanah Parker, the founder of the Native American Church, utilized as a hide out from troops and mercenaries. This land is nestled on the breaks of the Texas Plains and Red River Valley. About 45 minutes northwest of Denton, this burgeoning permaculture site is a 1200-acre space where we will discover new knowledge and skills in permaculture design as well as build our learning community together.

WHAT STUDENTS ARE SAYING:

“This Permaculture Design Course was more than I could have asked for. Expectations surpassed. I hold more hope for our species now than ever before, while truly grasping the gravity of the situation. Thank you!” ~ Jonathan Horstmann, Co-Founder of Food is Free Project

”Activities were spectacular. The movement and energy was amazing throughout. Overall, I could not have asked for a better class and wonderful people to share it with!” ~ Adam Russell, Founder of Upcycle Organics

At the end of the course, you are invited to celebrate with other Conscious Minds at the first annual Tribal Revival gathering, which takes place on the final weekend of the course, coinciding with 2014′s Fall Equinox.

The course will cover every major topic in Bill Mollison’s “Permaculture: a Designers Manual” and will also be packed full of rich, practical examples of permaculture design through Theron and John’s direct experience learning from permaculture professionals, biologists and community organizers from around the world!  Separating this PDC from the rest will be a unique focus on applying Permaculture to business and economics.  We have created daily modules to accomodate any budget.  Come to a later PDC to compete your certification if you can make it for the entire two weeks.

Attend up to 2 of the single day or part day modules for FREE!
(offer does not apply to permaculture introduction module)

Some of the subjects students can expect to learn about:

  1. Permaculture Introduction: 3 day module Permaculture History, Philosophy, Ethics, Principles, Patterns and Methods of Design
  2. Water & Aquaculture: Full day module
  3. Soils & Composting: Full day module
  4. Trees & Forest Systems: Full day module
  5. Earthworks: Full day module
  6. Climate: Half day module
  7. Business & Funding: Half day module
  8. Zero Waste: Part day module

Many other topics will be explored as well, and students are encouraged to share and exchange any relevant knowledge and skills they have. The course is designed to be interactive and inspirational to provide the best possible environment for all levels of students.

This Permaculture Design Course runs over a jam packed two weeks from September 5th – September 20th (Graduation Ceremony, Potluck & Party!) To receive a Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) issued by the Permaculture Research Institute, participants are required to attend all two weeks of exciting hands-on and classroom learning.  However, we are going to offer this PDC in 1 day modules, so if your schedule doesn’t allow you to attend the full two weeks or you can’t budget for the full price, you can still participate! During future PDC courses, you can then continue to accrue the courses you need to earn your design certificate.

Legend of Badges

Note: The various badges displayed in people profiles are largely honesty-based self-proclamations by the individuals themselves. There are reporting functions users can use if they know of blatant misrepresentation (for both people and projects). Legitimacy, competency and reputation for all people and projects can be evidenced and/or developed through their providing regular updates on permaculture work they’re involved in, before/after photographs, etc. A spirit of objective nurturing of both people and projects through knowledge/encouragement/inspiration/resource sharing is the aim of the Worldwide Permaculture Network.

PRI Teacher

With the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable.

PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows.
