Enlarging our Compost holding was our next challenge. Peter was at work digging again, pounding in support beams, and building two wooden compost bins with a covered space between them for staw bales.
The system works well. We have learned to put only finer mulch material here such as kitchen veggy peelings, coffee grinds and neighbour's lawn clippings. The larger mulch material and cuttings go onto the Hugel beds.
I also learned keep difficult plants such as bindweed out of the compost. Oh my that was a hard lesson!
