Eco Caminhos wants to become a role model in Brazil and beyond when it comes to social, sustainable building and life style. We will live in harmony with nature, produce our own food & energy while the land grows in richness, productivity and aesthetic beauty. We will treat our own waste, generate our own energy and train the underprivileged. We will generate income by inviting tourists who will be accommodated in Eco Lodges and will be offered locally cultivated organic food and a width variety

We own a beautiful 287.000 m2 property with mountains, forest, natural water sources and a creek only 2 hours drive from Rio de Janeiro.

Safe community and only 15 minutes drive from Nova Friburgo a town with a good infrastructure, education and health care.

Here at Eco Caminhos we only receive 2 types of volunteers:

1)            Long term volunteers + 1 year with the intention to stay

2)            Very skilled volunteers (permaculture, cob house building, carpentry, eco tourism etc).

Eco Caminhos offers long term volunteer positions with the possibility to become part of the Eco Caminhos Team and earn a profit share.

We are looking for hard working people who like to make their hand dirty  We have 40 hour work weeks and we all start and end working together. Currently we are bulding a Cob House which is hard work. Once you convince managent that you are skilled and commited you can set up your own profitable project to make your own living

We offer accommodation for volunteers at a beautiful location surrounded by nature including a creek next to the house. We offer basic food and we have a basic internet connection that often turns week during the rainy season.

For nature lovers you are paradise, you can hike, do cicle tours, pick fruits to eat and plant anything you feel like. And there is a bus stop at 500 meters from the volunteer house. in 45 minutes you are in the city centre. Nova Friburgo is a nice mountain city with friendly people. It is also a very safe city compared to the big cities in Brazil.
