Every spring, I'm awed by Mother Nature's energetic burst of life all around me. However, that power includes invasive and problematic plants as well. Much of my efforts right now are focused on clearing out things like Japanese honeysuckle, oriental bittersweet, and wineberry. I'm also finding a great deal of trash buried under the soil!
I have some massive ash trees that I thought were struggling due to bittersweet vines (some as large as my thigh), until someone educated me about the emerald ash borer. I'm getting my trees inspected. I sincerely hope I can find a less-toxic solution to pesticide!
