Summary

Our purpose is to encourage sustainable cultivation of medicinal trees and shrubs

Description

Between 2004 and 2021 we created a  medicinal forest garden in Devon, UK. We transformed the site of a redundant conifer plantation with permaculture design using both native and introduced medicinal trees and other plants. The purpose of the site was to  supply a clinical herbal practitioner, now retired from practice. Based in UK, a cool temperate climate, we learned a lot about designing and maintaining the medicinal forest garden. This has been published as The Medicinal Forest Garden Handbook (2020). Due to the pandemic we were unable to continue with onsite courses and have now put up online Design and Harvest courses as an alternative.
