I've always been interested in growing plants, with long sessions with both grandmothers in their gardens. They taught me basic skills such as taking cuttings. I yearned for a vegie garden as a child and struggled to dig a place to plant some seeds in sandy bushland at home. I met Esther Deans locally and took to ' no dig' gardening.
I stumbled upon Permaculture books in the local library and through Grassroots magazine. I developed our previous home surroundings along permaculture principles. After joining a local permaculture group a few years ago, I finally enrolled in a PDC which a small group of us completed externally with us meeting regularly to discuss and study our topics.
I am currently working on a suburban block design for our home.
