My background is in the social sciences, B.A. in Political Science and a M.A. in Chinese Studies. After graduation, I worked in China for 8 years doing translation and educational work. During that time I was given first hand experience on the problems our natural ecosystems are facing due to a constant and growing human preoccupation with consumerism, habitat expansion, and overpopulation. I came to the realization that something had to be done to help counter this phenomenon. I have been studying permaculture methods since 2011 and through my studies have found there is a better way.
Now knowing that big changes start locally, I will be starting a small CSA and tree nursery in North Carolina in 2014. Using those methods I have learned from so many people in the permaculture movement, I hope to be apart of the change that is still in its infancy.
