I come from a background of fighting against the commercialisation of conservation in South Africa. One notable victory I had was the prevention of the privatisation of conservation in South Africa. Over the years my passion for nature conservation evolved into care for the people and an overall concern for the state of affairs in the world we live in.
After many negative years fighting for the environment, I saw Bill Mollison’s ‘Global gardener’ series. Everything he said made sense and resonated with me. More importantly, the future suddenly seemed positive as Bill had a plan to fix the world.
I am currently busy with a house and garden design for Langbos informal settlement as well as a couple of other designs including a design for a city roof top garden. My intentions are to focus on the design aspect of permaculture including designing tools to make the life of the designer easier. At some stage I would like to complete a community design for Langbos while doing permaculture design and implementation consulting in the mean time. I would also like to further my formal permaculture studies.
