I was originally born in Zimbabwe, but grew up in South Africa. I have always loved the outdoors and have enjoyed a lot of rock climbing and hiking. Within my career I have been in hospitality, specifically management, for the most part, but also did architectural and landscape model building for a number of years.

About 15 years ago a dream began to stir in me. I had a dream of one day running a farm. It was to be a farm that was not only about growing food, but about growing people. It was to be a place of hope and refuge for people who needed to find themselves and rediscover their love for life. I knew nothing about permaculture except I had heard the word once and had seen a very small "display" area that was designed using permaculture principles. Due to circumstances, after 15 years nothing had come of my dream, but it has never left me. But as "fate" would have it, one evening in March I watched "Introduction to Permaculture by Geoff Lawton" and I was hooked! 2 days later I joined the online course and within 2 weeks I started learning and have not looked back. The dream is burning and I am moving.
