Born in Germany with a german/portuguese family background i was always interested and curious about nature and all its parts!
My educational background could be discribed as technical/scientific. I took various courses in Architekture, Metallworking/-Technology, I studied 6 years Forestry and environmental studies at a university in Germany, but did't finish with a diplome, I have a diplome in technical drawing of houses (draftsman).
All together gives me a broad base of education in a variety of areas which are usefull to Permaculture!
Scientific range of my former education enters Forestry, Botany, Soil and geological sciences, meteorology and climate, chemestry and physics.
At the moment I am working in restauration of wooden doors and windows, as a landscape gardener, as a Arborist specialized in fruit trees, and i am a caretaker of Houses and Buildings.
Also worked in Bars, Cafes, Restaurants.. for the social Part of Life it was and is always helpfull.
I first heard of Permacultre when I was about 18 years old, since my education was kind of always directing to that. I tried to pull out the most knowledge of the traditional education system until i get serious starting Permaculture. First big step into the direction to Permaculture (besides reading about it) was when I lived for almost a year on an islandfarm in British Columbia in Canada. There my future became more clear in going into that direction! This was also the time when I quit my studies, right before the thesis! I took the knowledge accumulated and went to Portugal, where I am currently living since about 4 years. After learning the language, I am now ready to start and will take a PDC in 2015, if not possible in 2014.
Right now I am helping a "Permie" here in my City with soil recovery of an area in the city.
Before there are a lot of small things i did here and there including the farm work on the Island in Canada.
My Intention is to start an own Project soon, making contacts, and in long term I wanna become a PCD Teacher, maybe even a consultant. But for now Teaching is the objective!!
Well its my Life, and sure there is way more to tell...
just ask if you are interested!
