Linda brings 25 years of teaching experience to the field of permaculture. She is also the author of three books, a clinician, member of Village Surrey Transition Initiative, and community volunteer.
As an award-winning scholar of history at Simon Fraser University, Ms Prai began her journey of reading and writing about human nature, our impact on the planet, and how our financial system underpins the our growth-based model. This led to the discovery of the Transition movement and then Permaculture. Linda found that 'patterns to details' is a concept that can be used in every area of our lives.
Linda’s passion is community building, education and food security. She speaks to the community about both the transition and permaculture movements, participates in awareness-raising events such as a Skill Share Fair where permaculture related demos are given (eg. sheet mulch versus dig up the lawn), and attends as many workshops as possible to build skills and knowledge.
In October 2015 Linda was a founder of Roots Ecovillage Co-operative, a worker-owned co-op which hopes to retrofit existing suburbs and eventually have a purpose-built ecovillage (co-housing, organic farm, education centre).
