I am new to Permaculture and I have been doing it most of my adult life. I'm beginning to understand what it takes to be in balance with, in relationship with my "place" my environment the land that supports me, in all senses. Land stewarding, land husbandry. A connecting of disciplines to the Gaia paradigm so that we may all live in harmony nurturing the land while it nurtures or feeds us. A defined sense of relating to and with what is here. A give and receive relationship that demands our attention and participation in order to continue serving the greater community.
Currently I am house sitting in the Cowichan Valley with my partner as we downsize. I'm working in an elementary school with a high functioning autistic boy and his class transitioning away from the hands on to the theoretical. I coach and support fathers, families and men in groups, facilitating personal growth and self empowerment through better communication.
I have some experience with garden, orchard, bee and animal management, running a smallholding for 25yrs. I parented 5 children to adulthood here in the Cowichan Valley since the late 70's.
I live my life with purpose and intention, visiting New Zealand for 3 months in 2010 and then Tanzania with my partner Elke January 2011. I now have a TESL certificate as of 03,20,2011 and plan to teach in the fall in Europe and Tanzania, where we intend to continue supporting the projects started. Volunteers welcome!
