I am the director of Patrick Whitefield Associates, having trained with Patrick before working along side him as a teacher and consultant. I'm the leading teacher on our residential and online permaculture courses and also work as a design consultant. I also teach with other permaculture teachers in Britain and Europe including The Sustainability Centre.
My previous experience includes managing 2 acres of intensive organic vegetable production, managing 5 acres of ornamental and food gardens at a meditation retreat centre, and eco-catering for groups, courses and retreats. I became interested in permaculture after WWOOFing on my travels and finding it in alignment with my own view of the world.
I live with my partner and son on a 4 acre smallholding in Dartmoor where we're working towards self-sufficiency and creating educational spaces -I write a blog about this on my website permacultureplate.blogspot.com. I also write the blog on www.patrickwhitefield.co.uk and in 2013 I co-author 'Food from your Forest Garden' with Martin Crawford, a comprehensive guide to making best use of your forest garden produce. I would like to make permaculture learning more accessible as a grassroots movement which empowers people with a level of self-reliance.
