I am a horticulturalist with a back ground in organic horticulture, agroecological food production and food foraging. With a masters degree in sustainable food production and a PGCE.
For the last 11 years I have been working with communities to establish community gardens and teaching horticulture to adults in the community. I have always been driven by a passion for eating healthy local food and enabling others to do so, whilst protecting the planet and it's bio-diversity.
For the last six years I have been working closely with Steve Jones of Sector 39 permaculture, teaching horticulture as part of his PDC's. Working with Cwm Harry together we started the Newtown growing project 'Get Growing' that has developed into 'Cultivate (Cwm Harry)' food co-op. In 2011 I expanded my own growing from one acre to five. With my husband we are developing a diverse mixed market garden producing veg, fruit, flowers and eggs for the local shops and market.
