I come from a rural family and understand the vagaries of traditional agriculture – the uncertain weather and even more uncertain economy.

This made me look further for a career. Computers provided that outlet, so starting at the bottom; I worked through the layers of responsibility to become a “Contracted A Level Project Manager”. This meant that I could sign a cheque for $24 million on my own authority and was running 15 such projects concurrently.

This was corporate life with a bang! The pay was great but it was also draining physically, mentally and emotionally. I left this particular form of insanity behind and retired early.

OK – what now?

For a time I dabbled with the arcane science of share and futures trading and made money but it did not satisfy.

The answer came in the form of a Permaculture Design Course – another endless path to master!

Design is design, whether it be computers, finance or ecology. The art / logic of design backed by attitude, knowledge and experience will create a product both easy to use and highly functional.

Now to put it into action.
