My interest in soils, organic agriculture & co. started in the early 90ies. At that time, I lived in the countryside of Peru, and there was no need for my profession - graphic design. On the rural property I lived, there just were some worms (Eusenia Foetida) the owner had purchased out of interest, and a half-scientific book about vermiculture. So I threw myself into it, received tons of manure to prepare compost as feed for them, incremented the worm population and produced tons of vermicompost, not knowing at that time that this would become my favorite subject for many years to come.

I read a lot about vermiculture, and agriculture, and related fields. I even started to study agriculture back in Germany, my home country, which unfortunately I couldn’t attend well due to simultaneously working full time as a designer.

In 2006, I went back to South America. And here I still am. And I think time has come to buy my own little land and live what I like most!

Only last year, in 2014, I discovered Geoff Lawton’s videos …. and I immediately knew: that’s exactly what I want to do! There was this excitement coming up and I felt like a scientist discovering a new planetary system out in the universe. Of course I decided to participate in the next online PDC of Geoff Lawton in 2015, and that’s what I did. It was a great experience, life-changing.

I now hope to find a little great property on costal Ecuador where I can apply what I’ve absorbed in the PDC. And if I manage to create a well-established permaculture site, I’ll happily share my experiences with my surroundings …
