(projects i'm involved in)
I have a BS in Biology/Environmental Studies. I worked with the US Forest Service in the Tongass forest in SE Alaska. For the last 5 years I have been turning old 160-acre conventional farm into a permaculture site in southern Kentucky.
I was practicing permaculture before I knew what it was or what to call it, due to my interest in and training as an ecologist. I simply tried to mimic natural systems that I identified. I found permaculture through hearing of Sepp Holzer. From there I moved through the books and videos of everyone I could find. It was wonderful to not have to reinvent the wheel for every system you put in place.
My current interests are in helping people switch over conventional farms to diversified permaculture portfolios and helping urbanites and suburbanites add food and energy production systems to their properties.
