Having a background in art & graphic design makes 'pattern thinking' a natural process. It is the use of 'negative space' in illustration and photography that is translatable to the design of our environments. It is often much easier to start design by identifying what areas will NOT be put into productive use.

My passion for regenerative design was born from the desire to be with nature rather than boxes and screens. Working on several organic farms, I realized there had to be a better way to farm than we were doing, sometimes weeding for days on end. Then I found permaculture, immediately enrolled in Geoff Lawton's online PDC, then a 6-month ecological landscaping intensive in California. I have since returned to the East Coast, excited to work with others in the area interested in regenerative design.
