My main love of architecture is in creating spaces which respond to the client and become beautiful, functional places. A building should work for its inhabitants, makes people happier and ultimately help to change and enhance lives and the environment. The Cradle to Cradle approach to architecture has been my main driver in the last few years, making the step from building to considering place, building, energy, resources, waste and environment.
Permaculture is another step along the road to creating beautiful and healthy environments. By incorporating Permaculture into my life, work and ethos I can expand my remit and work more effectively in environmental awareness and improvement.
Having worked for SAE LAO Project in Lao PDR as the General coordinator I have had hands on experience working in permaculture. SAE LAO's main goals are Education, Employment and Environment, to create an holistic approach to sustainable communities.
I now work as an architect in the UK but my passion for permaculture and closed loop design continues and helps to inform my work.
