Laurel received her Permaculture certification in the summer of 2016 from The Ecology Center. She is now working on her masters degree in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona, with an expected graduate date of 2020. Her work in graduate school has included designing ecological dust mitigation for the Salton Sea, researching California Native plants and consumer awareness and education about them, as well as extensive graphics training. She hopes to work in Landscape Architecture as a way to help promote Permaculture within the industry.
