Background in engineering and computer network systems. Bought 50 acre farm in 1986, but struggled to make it profitable. Active research from 2009 to work out a good plan for the farm led me to permaculture.
In 2010, we put in 2 swales, and began planting leguminous trees along the swales, and in lines parallel to the swales (in a keyline pattern). Most died, or were eaten - we are only 400 metres from a national park boundary! So we keep replanting, and eventually we'll get there.
Once the trees are established, we intend to begin broadscale crops in the strips of land between the tree lines.
