I have been a Naturalist Guide for the last 22 years, and always like gardening.

Got involved with Permaculture some ten years ago,through friends and didi a course in Quito, but the house on the mainland with a decent garden had to be sold.

Now have a new project combining the garden with endemic and native plants of Santa Cruz Island.
My goal is to get my neighbours attention.

The area I live in is rural with some important agriculture going on, but very basic, and due to introduced agressive plants, such as elephant grass herbicides are used.

People here depend on weather for irrigation and here this is very variable from year to year
