Hi - my background is as a jack of all trades having been a soldier, worked in construction and mining and most recently as the leading hand on the Greenough river solar farm . My wife and I have moved out of the city a few years ago as we feel the need to be more connected with the land. We travelled australia for 16 months and have settled in the Geraldton region in a little spot called Greenough.
I got interested in permaculture via a discussion forum called teknoscape where i kept seeing it mentioned and investigated for myself and found that it is in line with what i feel - and the antithesis of our current destructive/productive means of subsistence today.
Right now we are looking at buying acreage in Greenough and setting ourselves up in a semi-self sufficient hobby farm / lifestyle property using permaculture principles. We are very new to this and have a steep learning curve ahead of us - especially me - my wife has the greenest of green thumbs but i am just learning about gardening in any form - both of us are permaculture beginners.
