(projects i'm involved in)
I'm a new young face to the Permaculture world. My name is Jonathan and I am 18 years old, I am studying Natural Science and I'm now finishing my last semester before graduation.
I found permaculture last summer (2010) after seeing "A farm for the future" on Google videos. I started to read about it in books and just couldn't get enough. It just solved all the problems that I had ever come across, and I am very surpised you don't learn more of this in School. I just adored the Permaculture and the (closely connected) Slow Food philosofy wich I found about the sam time. I soon decided that I must make something practical out of my newly found enthusiasm and design a permaculture garden of my family's urban lot — and what better way to do it than make it my graduation project... ?
So now I am on the go: Since sept-oct, I have observed my urban 900 square meter garden and visionalized what I want it to bee. I've also been thinking about me and my family's future plans and how to suit my design to our needs and wants.
I very much welcome tips on what to think about in general when working with a design.
I will regularly give updates on my design process.
I have just got started on the actual design part of my permaculture project. To help myself /others to come up with creative and suitable ideas I have asssembled the forework of my design. The conclusions of my observations and interactions and my vision
