Karryn Olson-Ramanujan loves exploring the world and its cultures--a passion that has taken her from her home state of South Dakota to live and work in Germany, Ghana, and India. Karryn and her family moved in 2003 to an Ecovillage in upstate New York, where they are learning how to live in community and working with neighbors to build food guilds in Zone 2.
Karryn is a co-founder of the Finger Lakes Permaculture Institute and has taught 11 PDCs--including an urban course in Baltimore and a for-credit course at Ithaca College, where she is adjunct faculty and has mentored IC students to install a permaculture garden on campus (Karryn is in the red rain coat in her profile picture, with students who have worked on the project). Karryn is certified in The Natural Step--for strategic planning for sustainability.
