(projects i'm following)
I've been a full-time, professional sculptor for nearly 15 years now. Upon moving to our new home on 20 acres in the country, I began researching landscape design to create a sculpture park for my work. Along the way, I discovered Permaculture and decided to integrate the two. The idea is to create an aesthetically pleasing sculptural food forest that I call PermaSculpture.
I am 2+ years into the project now. The design has evolved along the way and will continue to do so. Of immediate concern was the lack of windbreaks so I've planted 1400 trees or so, integrating fast-growing nurse species with slower-growing nut and marginal fruit trees. I have also put in a number of grafted fruit trees and berry bushes. Projects are documented on my website, which is slowly becoming a 50/50 mix of my sculptural and permasculptural work.
