I was born and grew up in Singapore and went to an international school. After high school and National Service, I was lucky to go to the University of California, San Diego. Here I became more interested in food and where it came from. What started as a form of procrastination became online research, and I found a passion for permaculture.
Through a series of serendipitous events, I now have the opportunity to start an organic permaculture farm in the subtropical, south eastern part of China. The CEO of a large electronics factory would like to start providing organic food for his 10,000 workers on his factory, and if our business plan is approved, will grow most of the food on site, cutting out transportation and distribution costs.
The plan is to have Zone 1 consist of an intensive aquaponics facility, similar to that of Growing Power in Milwaukee. In Zone 2, we intend to keep any livestock such as chickens and bees. Zone 3 may consists of holistically managed pasture, Zone 4 an intensively managed food forest.
Anyone interested in this project is free to contact me. I will need all the help I can get.
