I live and work at Windward, a land based intentional community and sustainability research cooperative in south central washington state, usa

I am an active permaculturist, and educator based out of Windwards 131 stewardship forest.

My primary area of focus is Permaculture in marginal areas. That is, degraded areas characterized by low soil moisture retention, extreme exposure to sunlight and wind, areas prone to erosion and nutrient loss, and marked by poor land use history.

I work in these area, because I am in love with them, and know that these conditions are what most people have to work with.

My passion for general homesteading skillls, renewable energy, natural building and using the materials that the land produces to meet my basic needs- has led me to cultivate a broad base of highly interconnected skills and intuitive knowledge which I have the pleasure of employing every day of my life.

Windward offers immersion experiences with integrated sustainable systems at the small community level through 12-week internship, apprenticeship and fellowship opportunities.

I am also offering workshops for those looking for a more condensed learning experience.
