Retail worker turned gardener. My background consists of mostly maintaining a traditional home garden, until I was infected with learning about permaculture. Since learning the concepts I've begun planning a food forest of my new property.
I became interested in gardening with the birth of my first child, wanting her to eat good healthy foods. I thought in what ways could gardening be taken to the next level which led me to permaculture, at the Permies.com website. Between Paul Wheaton, Geoff Lawton, Bill Mollison and the mighty Sepp Holzer, I have plenty of inspiring role models and people I can blame for my terminal permaculture infection.
Currently I am planning on a food forest/hugel based garden system to establish a homestead for my family as well as creating surplus for the local community. My plan is to get it to a point where I can work minimally to gather sustainable harvests while maintaining my lazy lifestyle.
