I'm from the northeast US but I've lived and gardened in Hawaii, Abu Dhabi and Texas. Approaches and practices differ however the essence of permaculture remains the same no matter where I've lived.

Just moved back to the east coast of the US so I've begun a permaculture garden. Climate change is wreaking havoc in my yard this year (12 inches of rain in 3 weeks) so I've spread out my plantings and varied locations, doing food forest, crops in pots -- even heirloom strawberry popcorn in a laundry basket so it can be moved :)

I compost and recycle/reuse/repurpose almost everything and have only a tiny bit of trash each week. Everyone/thing in my home has a function: the goldfish create the fertilizer water, the duck poop enriches the compost, the cats...well, the cats function as my friends and good entertainment ;) I collect rainwater, use gray water if needed.
