I am about making a difference of transforming Australia one person at time.
I have been involved in growing some of my own food since the early 80's when I moved with my wife Kate, of 35 years marriage, to The Pocket 5 klm from Billinudgel and 20minutes from Byron Bay on the North Coast of NSW Australia. This was at the end of the hippy era and was a sea change for Kate and I.This was when the words "Sea Change" had not come vouge,It was also a move made to early in my life.
It was a time of building my first passive designed home and designing and building a number of others. I was also one of the founding members of the Appropriate Community Technology Assocaition (ACTA) based in Lismore. This was when I first intergrated the building in the landscaping because one did not work without the other. This was when I asked the question of why we do not intergrate our whole city urban lanscape and have growing of food in the same location to where we live.
Move forward 30 years to today what has changed we now have the specta of climate change and more people are starting to realise we have to something NOW. We need to start seriously intergrating food growing into our urban environment, it is slowly happening ........IT has to happen quicker.
So what am I doing about it?
I produce a magazine called About People. ..... Why about peole, you ask?....... This world is all about us we are the ones creating the problems and we are the ones who can solve them. About People is one of the intruements that will bring positive, uplifting and solution focused stories and articles, Part of the story is growing our own food and part of that is permaculture.
So I need people who have a passion for permaculture to provide stories to intergrate into all the other aspects of transforming Australia and the mindsets of Australians in order to bring about whole system change and move us all toward sustainable futures.
