Varied background: was US Army officer, VP of major corporation, executive director of international non-profit, author of three books, and alpaca farmer. Now co-founder of a non-profit retreat/transition center called Valhalla Project for post-9/11 Soldiers.
Transitioned from gardener to farmer, and now have 200 acres in USA climate zone 6b in the Ozark Mountain range, with wet winters and very hot, dry summers. Became interested in permaculture through searches that led to Sepp Holtzer and eventually to Geoff Lawton. Currently enrolled in the on-line PDC offered by Geoff.
We are slowly transforming an old farmstead with worn-out pastures and mature forests into a model permaculture operation that will both train Valhalla participants and be a role model for neighboring operations.
