Simple Soil Solutions LLC, created by Vail Dixon, helps you achieve your dreams by teaching you the skills needed to design your vision into a growing/living system that produces a high quality of life, needed products, surplus and true return on the energy invested in its maintenance.
We believe that the care of people, soil, and resources offers humanity a proactive way to improve human and animal health, environmental restoration, and economic regeneration.
Vail specializes her permaculture design to emphasize soil building and regenerative systems management - developing nutrient dense and healthy plants and integrating animal systems with human and plant systems. She specializes in grazing systems for beef and horses.
Vail Dixon combines her passion for healing with life experiences of soil building and regeneration, forest improvement, crop farming, grass beef production, and designing systems to offer clients a holistic, integrated approach to land and infrastructure development. She brings her past expertise in international equestrian competition and classical horsemanship, and combines it with cutting edge nutrition research and holistic health care to improve livestock and grazing systems.
Vail is currently involved in creating a Permaculture research farm and institute in central VA (Nelson County), called Hawk's Journey Farm, and combining that with a healing retreat center. After initially developing the main-frame design and infrastructure, our team will be developing profitable enterprises off of the land base and developing a regional training center for youths and young-at-heart learners.
Vail remains committed to a lifetime of learning, developing and sharing tools and systems, so that each community develops its own resilience while embracing its part of the whole.
