I am the proud father of two great youngin's. I have worked in Asia for many years where my martial arts training led me to an interest in diet, food and health. The reverence the Japanese have for food is quite a contrast to what I have experienced in North America. My family's hunt for good quality food has changed our lives significantly.
I have been dabbling in sustainable perrenial food production systems for about ten years. While I have not taken any formal training however, I am currently working on a system on 6 acres in the Boreal Forest. I happened upon permaculture five years ago thanks to Jack Spirko's podcast. Now we are "all in" permies! We look forward to providing our community with safe and ethical whole foods in the very near future.
I am trying to establish a Northern Food Forest using a number of typical permaculture techniques. We have currently finished earthworks and planting on our six acre test site and are now currently planning our annual gardens, chicken runs and beekeeping activities. If we can do it here, anyone can do permaculture just about anywhere.
