In 2012 I started with our won Strawbale house wit a lot of passive and active solar energy features. I completed it in februari 2013. In July 2013 I started on our guesthouse which is a loghouse made of rectangular logs. I designed it as a low energy house and implemented solar energy features in it. Both houses have secondary heating on wood and a backup on electricity.
The Strawbalehouse has a wooden construction and was filled in with strawbales (inlcuding the roof). The walls are plastered with clayplaster. On the outside we use wood and chalkplaster on top of the clay.
The loghouse has double walls filled with glasswool (made out of recycled glass).
We collect rainwater and filter our used water for reuse...
If you want to build something like this for yourself? Feel free to contact me...
(on the foto's you see both houses 98% completed)
