Become a part of the evolution of this project on an extraordinary site in a long-established community and seminar centre, Centro d'Ompio.
The site is being developed as a demonstration of Permaculture at every level. While the 2-3 hectares of land is intended to show the best possible examples of design, placement and implementation following the principles of Permaculture, this will serve as a platform for many other initiatives and themes, including:
medicinal plant raising and transformation;
development of the consciousness of human connection with the rest of Nature, and our particular responsibility and capacity to be activists for the regeneration of both the external and social environments through:
deep ecology;
wilderness awareness;
community development and uplift events;
it is based in the grounds of Casa Felicina (see Map), a transformed traditional farmhouse lying 450 metres above sparkling Lago d'Orta in the foothills of massive Monta Rosa in northern Piemonte, near the city of Omegna,
Casa Felicina itself occupies several hectares at the base of a larger property of ten hectares forming the basis of Centro d'Ompio, a long established Centre for seminars, courses and workships, cultural events. The site occupies a southwest slope on a well forested hillside, with abundant water to exploit for maximum abundance.
