Permaculture & Grow Biointensive Soil Test/Training Center

Posted by Brandon Neil about 13 years ago

Are you interested in learning to GROW A COMPLETE DIET for YOU and YOUR SOIL in a closed loop system on an 1/8 acre or less? And teaching others how to do the same?

My partner and I are forming a team of Permaculturists, Mini Farmers, Coordinators, Developers, and Communictors - GREAT PEOPLE - to establish a 40 Bed Grow Biointensive Soil Test/Training Center. The minimum land required is 5000 square feet. This can be expanded depending on the interests and skillsets involved. Other Permaculture systems are welcome to be incorporated.

The goal is to develop a comprehensive Sustainability Research, Resource, and Education Center:

- Research and Record Appropriate Sustainable Methods: Ecology, Food, Energy, Housing, Community, Education, Economy, Recreation

- Put this Research into ACTION: Consulting, Teaching, Workshops, Micro Enterprises, Publishing, and of course MORE Sustainable Production

GROW BIOINTENSIVE:

  • Double-Dug, Raised Beds
  • Composting
  • Intensive Planting
  • Companion Planting
  • Carbon Farming
  • Calorie Farming
  • The Use of Open-Pollinated Seeds
  • A Whole-System Farming Method

  • 67% to 88% less water
  • 50% to 100% less fertilizer
  • 99% less energy than commercial agriculture, while using a fraction of the
    resources.

  • Produce 2 to 6 times more food
  • Build the soil up to 60 times faster than in nature, if properly used
  • Reduce by half or more the amount of land needed
