As one can almost always expect in situations like these, there have been some delays building the cabin. We are making progress, but it has been slow due to the extremely wet spring we have had this year, and now the scorching heat. The walls are up, the roof and most of the siding are on, and we just installed electric lines and had power turned on this past week.
We have also run the water lines and installed the well pump on the existing well, and will begin the insulation process hopefully within the next 2 weeks. We are hoping to use cellulose insulation. It is important to us to avoid fiberglass for the health risks associated with it.
We are living just down the road from the property with my in-laws, so that has definitely been a positive as far as being able to go out there and work as much as possible. We've come a long way, and hopefully can be in the cabin and begin preparing the land in a matter of weeks.
