Ibrahim at Dawn House:
Merging Midwifery, Permaculture, and Spiritual Growth

Discover Dawn House
With a passion deeply rooted in the principles of Fair Share, my journey has led me to establish Dawn House in central Portugal. This project is a synthesis of my lifelong dedication to service in midwifery, permaculture, and spiritual growth, aiming to support and enhance existing and developing projects within these realms.
Background & Expertise:
Midwifery: I bring a wealth of experience as a graduate nurse-midwife from Flanders, having worked in various hospital wards and specialized in home birthing in Oregon. This background not only informs my permaculture practices with a nurturing and life-centric approach but also integrates the concept of care and support into the community we're building at Dawn House.
Permaculture & Teaching: Certified in permaculture design and recently completed a Permaculture Teacher Course in September 2023, my focus is on the social dynamics and practical applications of permaculture ethics. I'm dedicated to sharing this knowledge, aiming to foster sustainable practices and ethical stewardship of the land.
International Experience & Language Skills: My travels and residencies in countries including Syria, the UK, and the US have enriched my perspective, enabling me to engage with diverse communities. Fluent in Flemish (Dutch), English, and French, with a working knowledge of German and currently learning Portuguese, I'm committed to inclusive communication and learning.
Leadership & Organizational Skills: My managerial experience in both a dental practice and an estate agency, alongside a history of organizing educational and activist events, showcases my ability to lead, organize, and inspire. These skills are vital to the collaborative and community-driven nature of Dawn House.
Digital Savviness & Activism: An early adopter of internet technologies and a committed online educator, I leverage digital platforms to enhance communication and knowledge sharing in permaculture and beyond. My activism, rooted in a total objection to the draft, reflects my dedication to peace and sustainable development.
Personal Insights:
Friends know me as Ibrahim, a name that resonates through my permaculture certificates and embodies my journey. As a father and a community organizer, my experiences have taught me the value of resilience, adaptability, and the power of shared knowledge. At Dawn House, we're not just cultivating land; we're nurturing a community where midwifery, permaculture, and spiritual growth intersect to create a sustainable, thriving ecosystem.
Join us in this journey at Dawn House, where every day is an opportunity to grow, learn, and contribute to a healthier planet and a more connected humanity.
