I was born in Flagstaff, Arizona but lived all over the United States. Laid off in 2010 after years of climbing the corporate ladder. Now I'm a semi-retired historian, aspiring author, landlord, hobby farmer, letterpress printer, VPA Ambassador, yoga enthusiast.

I discovered permaculture while seeking information on Arid Gardening. My only real prior serious gardening effort was in Hilo, Hawaii in the 1990s while I was teaching elementary school. I became involved with the Valley Permaculture Alliance (formerly Phoenix Permaculture Guild) where I serve as an ambassador at public events.

I am currently working on reinventing a 5 acre property north of Phoenix using permaculture principles while observing and learning as much as I can about permaculture, my community, and my environment.
