I grew up in Columbus, Ohio in a homeschooling family. I feel like being homeschooled gave me the opportunity to become an
Independent thinker, and to learn about the things I'm really interested in. Among those things
were nature and food.
For a long time I've been very interested in wild edible plants and food production. I remember in my teens, I would look at corn fields an wonder, "Isn't there a way to produce food that's more similar to the way nature produces it?" Then in 2009 I listened to an episode of the "Agroinnovations Podcast" in which Mark Shepard of New Forest Farm in Wisconsin was interviewed. Ever since then, I've been hooked on the idea of Permaculture. I got my PDC from Wayne Weiseman in 2012.
Although I'm currently not involved in any Permaculture projects, I would like to one day soon get my own land and build a Permaculture homestead. I would like to build a system that includes Aquaculture and forest gardening/farming. I would also like for it to a place that offers educational opportunities.
